GOEBBELS Eberhard

(1885 - 1952)

GOEBBELS was born in Röhe (Aachen) in 1885.
He probably came to Esch sur Alzette around 1910. His occupation was Bürochef.
In 1914 he married Maria Catharina KREMER, daughter of a Kaufmann in Esch sur Alzette. The couple had 3 children born in the years 1915 to 1921.
In October 1922 GOEBBELS associated with Jos DAUBENFELD, a local electrician, to found the company “Daubenfeld & Goebbels”.

Der Elektriker Jos. Daubenfeld und der Kaufmann Eberhard Goebbels von hier haben, unter der Firma “Daubenfeld & Goebbels” eine Kollektivgesellschaft gegründet, die sich mit dem Vertrieb eines Elektrizitätsgeschäftes sowie einer Gießerei befaßt.

The company, however, was dissolved by common agreement of the partners in July 1923.
GOEBBELS continued as Handelsmann in the field of electrical equipment and set up his firm in Luxembourg-city, 8 rue Zitha and later in 34 rue Goethe.
In 1931 he converted his firm Etablissements E. Goebbels to a société anonyme and took on the Société anonyme pour l’approvisionnement des Mines et Usines as minority partner. The new company carried the name of Union Électro-Industrielle.
In 1936 GOEBBELS, as Industrieller, joined Fritz TOEPKE who owned a Papier und Karton-Engros-Geschäft in Luxembourg-city. The company took on the name of “LUXPAPIER” G.m.b.H. and was located in 59 rue de Strasbourg and later in 4 rue d’Epernay. TOEPKE was responsible for sales and GOEBBELS for administration.
GOEBBELS died in Luxembourg-city (26 rue Glesener) in 1952.
